SCOOTER'S STORY
Hello, My name is Scooter and I came to Ohio from
way across the country when my breeder, Karen Mountain decided I was
just too special to be just an ordinary dog. Sue Fourmet who sent Gracie
and Piper to 4 Paws first told my breeder, Karen M. about 4 Paws when
they had two pups named Vinnie and Theo who were also special and
thought they should be service dogs. Theo and Vinnie came to 4 Paws over
a year ago and Theo is now a Seizure Assistance Dog for a small boy
named Bryant and I hear he is doing a wonderful job of alerting his
parents to seizures. Vinnie, it turned out was too sensitive for service
dog work but Theo's family invited him to live with them too! Recently,
Sue spoke with Karen about 4 Paws need for some Papillons for both the
service dog program as possible future service dogs and also she told
her they had a need for a male dog to help ensure 4 Paws has the Paps
they need for the future. When I first came to 4 Paws it was for service
dog placement but everyone felt I had so much more to give. So, last
week I moved in with Gracie and Piper on their farm and it is really
cool out there. I hear in the future there will be all sorts of animals
to meet. Right now there is a gang of cats who rule the barn and two
bunnies who own the basement. Of course we share the house with a few
German Shepherds and a Great Dane as well. One of my new dog siblings is
Esme, well that is Champion Esme. I am trying to get in with her because
Karen, my new mom (not to be confused with Karen M. my breeder) made an
agreement with my breeder to show me. I come from a long line of
Champions and my breeder and Karen feel I have what it takes to become a
Champion myself. I asked Esme if she would show me the ropes but for now
she laughs at me and tells me I do not want to learn her gait or they
would laugh me out of the room. I guess those GSDs are special and have
their own unique means of gaiting around a large ring in a manner that
shows their ability to cover ground when working and us little guys have
a much daintier walk (so she says).
I have been courting Piper. She is the best and
what a looker. Now don't tell her but one day I am going to marry that
gal! I know it and it will happen! She makes the lights shine and the
sun rise and I am set on being her man! Dante says to look out because
he is in on that one as well but I plan to be the one to win her heart.
I hear that may not be easy but I am sure I have what it takes!
Meanwhile, I have become a permanent staff here at Pink Girlz, Inc.
which keeps me close to Piper and gives me something to do. I want to
learn marketing because I am very personable and love to make people
smile. I am told I am quite good at charming people with my cute face
and my winning personality. Piper and Gracie say it takes a lot of work
and practice to be good at marketing 4 Paws but I am sure I can do it. I
have been shopping a few times and have started a wardrobe for when we
do go out in public. All Gracie and Piper have are pink clothes and
frilly stuff. I had to have some manly things to wear and Dante is quite
a bit bigger than me so nothing he owns fits me. My favorite new shirt
is a basketball jersey. I think I look quite sporting in it and plan to
get my picture taken in it shortly. Well, I will be around for a long
time and have a long and exciting career in front of me both at 4 Paws
and in the show room so check back often to see what is up and remember
to read the Papillon blog space for all the latest news. |
